I am working on solving exciting problems at LAER AI, a startup Igor Labutov and I co-founded, focusing on building next-generation semantic search technologies for enterprise. We are hiring!
Previously, I worked at Carnegie Mellon University as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Tom Mitchell's group. Before that, I did my Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science at Cornell University, advised by Prof. Claire Cardie. I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from Peking University.
The theme of my research has been developing effective machine learning systems for natural language understanding. My Ph.D. thesis develops models for automatic extraction of opinions and events from text documents. At CMU, I was working on the NELL project, where I developed machine reading and knowledge extraction algorithms.
